Why I Built DebatePilot

My name is Joanne, and I’m a World Schools debater.

Debate has given me incredible opportunities to challenge myself, grow in confidence, and learn from coaches who have pushed me to become a stronger debater. But I also saw how difficult it can be to get enough consistent, deliberate practice and detailed feedback between rounds, tournaments, and team practices.

I wanted a way to practice specific skills, identify weaknesses, and keep improving more consistently. So I started building DebatePilot.

What began as a tool to help me and my teammates train has grown into a bigger mission: giving debaters more opportunities to practice deliberately and giving coaches another tool to support their students’ development.
